BOXFIELD FARM, CHELLS, STEVENAGE

For a year I directed the excavations at Boxfield Farm, Chells, on the edge of Stevenage, on a site destined to become a housing estate. I had great teams of Hertfordshire Archaeological Trust professionals and local volunteers and very much enjoyed the project, but my path took me in a different, non-archaeological direction. I’m still sad that I didn’t see the project through to its conclusion, and abandoning archaeology at that moment was a mistake, but I had fun working in London.
